   to open or use something for the first time, depleting its full amount

Examples

• "Encentamos un nuevo proyecto la semana pasada."

  We began a new project last week.

• "Tuvo que encentar una botella de vino para la cena."

  He had to break into a bottle of wine for dinner.

• "No quiero encentar ese paquete todavía."

  I don't want to open that package yet.

Usage

Regular -ar verb. Often used when starting or beginning something new, or when opening/using something for the first time. Less common than comenzar or empezar in modern Spanish, but still used, especially in regional varieties and in the sense of 'breaking into' a supply or container.
