Usage

Voir is one of the most common French verbs and is highly irregular (je vois, tu vois, il voit, etc.). The subjunctive is also irregular: que je voie. In colloquial speech, *voir* can also mean "to check" or "to look into" (Voyons un peu, let's see). It appears in many fixed expressions: *voyons!* (come on!), *à voir* (to be seen/determined), and *c'est à voir* (that remains to be seen).
