Examples

• "Você pode me ajudar com esse projeto?"

  Can you help me with this project?

• "O médico ajudou o paciente a recuperar-se."

  The doctor helped the patient recover.

• "Vou ajudar minha mãe na cozinha hoje à noite."

  I'm going to help my mom in the kitchen tonight.

Usage

One of the most common verbs in Brazilian Portuguese. Often used with indirect objects (ajudar alguém) and can take infinitive complements (ajudar a fazer). Can also be reflexive (ajudar-se, "to help oneself").
