Usage
Very common verb in everyday Brazilian Portuguese. Often used with direct objects (encarar algo/alguém) or with "como" to mean "to view as" (encarar algo como...). The noun form is "encarada" (a stare/confrontation). Colloquially, "encarar" can mean to take on a challenge or even to accept an invitation (e.g., "Vamos ao cinema?" "Encaro!").
